Sheep Meadow
An open meadow in the southwestern park, used as a lawn when it is open for seasons.
Sheep Meadow is a broad lawn in southwestern Central Park with a Midtown skyline backdrop. It appears on this operator’s classic 19-stop loop. Lawn access follows park seasonal rules published by the Conservancy and NYC Parks — a carriage passing the meadow is not the same as sitting on the grass.
Visitor notes
When the lawn is open, it is a rest stop after a southern-park walk. When it is closed for turf recovery, you will still see the space from adjacent paths and drives.
